The Scottish Government’s early years initiative PlayTalkRead – Play Ball!

We were challenged to come up with a creative mini-campaign to support the Scottish Government’s ongoing PlayTalkRead initiative, to encourage parents and carers of children in the important early years 0-3 age bracket to incorporate playing, talking and reading into their daily routines.

Our PlayBall! campaign centred around a simple, inclusive concept – get a ball and play with your kids. It was fronted by Judy Murray, who you could argue has a decent track record in this area.

Results with Big Partnership

We reached more than half a million people by engaging press and social influencers, with more than 15,000 balls being given away from local authority leisure centres across Scotland. How many of them ended up in the neighbours’ garden we’re not sure.
