Campaign: Spark Energy – breaking into the UK energy retail market
As an ambitious competitor to the Big Six energy companies in the UK, Spark Energy wanted to get in front of prospective customers for future marketing campaigns.
Breaking into the UK energy retail market is no mean feat, though, particularly given the multi-million pound budgets of the big players. But we like a challenge. So using Facebook as a starting point, we created a regular stream of customer-focused content, a Facebook Display Advertising Campaign and a like-and-share-based competition with compelling prizes to be won.
In four weeks, we delivered a 469% increase in page likes (733 to 4174), increasing average daily reach by 1269%. Engagement, measured by shares and likes, increased by 4433%.
The Facebook competition reached more than 24,800 people in two weeks, with an engagement level of 9.5% against an average of 2%.
Our work with Spark continues, in very close partnership with the client’s in-house team. Now we’re sure we could finish off an energy case study with a joke about electric performance. But that just seems like an obvious plug.
