Radisson RED Glasgow – Charles Rennie Mackintosh Mural

The UK’s first Radisson RED hotel opened in Glasgow in April 2018, and they wanted a high-impact PR campaign to ensure the city, and the rest of the UK, knew they’d arrived.

Embracing the hotel’s promise to ‘Paint the town RED’, BIG commissioned Glasgow art collective, Art Pistol, and street artist Rogue-one to create a giant street art mural themed around Charles Rennie Mackintosh’ 150th anniversary, as a gift to the city.

We created a range of assets including video, time-lapse photography and imagery documenting the whole process, to be shared across media and social media channels.

The story generated outstanding UK national coverage in the Daily Mail, The Times, The Sun, Daily Express, BBC online and ITV. The story was also covered extensively by the regional media across the UK, from the Aberdeen Evening Express to the Dorset Echo. Our coverage generated over 241 million Opportunities To See, from over 60 outlets, and the video content has been viewed over 115,000 times..

The campaign has also left a lasting legacy from Radisson RED in the city it now calls home.
