DNV GL – Oil & Gas Industry Outlook

For a fourth consecutive year, BIG Partnership was tasked with supporting DNV GL, the technical authority to the global oil and gas industry, with its annual Industry Outlook report. This has become a trusted and respected insight into oil and gas opinion, issues and trends.

Entitled Confidence and Control, BIG dissected the survey data and prepared one global and nine regional releases. delivering the strongest and most stimulating headlines for media uptake across the world.

BIG then coordinated a pre-launch media campaign with key influential publications including, The Times, BBC, The Press and Journal, STV, Reuters and Upstream. A number of interviews were arranged and managed with senior DNV GL personnel ahead of the report’s global distribution on 24 January 2018.

A wider media campaign was then instigated on the day of the launch to capitalise on media enquiries and secure in-depth articles with oil and gas trade publications.

The project was completed within a four-week timeline and achieved 136 global media hits. It also included five interviews with The Times, The Press and Journal, STV, Natural Gas World, and Oil & Gas Vision. In addition, four trade media features were secured and written for Pipeline & Gas Journal, Gas 4 Energy, World Pipelines, and Oil & Gas Middle East.

Business benefits included the report being downloaded more than 6,000 times during the first three months, and media relations activity around the report was cited as influencing the oil price.
